Playa de las Teresitas – Located on the north of the island, the 1.5km stretch of golden sand is one of the most beautiful man made beaches on the island. Playa de las Teresitas offer thousands of tons of pristine sand brought in all the way from the Sahara Desert and carefully placed palm trees dotted across it. Playa de la Arena – The beach is situated beyond Buena Vista Del Norte, beside the golf course of the same name. This black volcanic sand beach, has recently been awarded a European Blue Flag for its cleanliness and quality, and is popular as one of the most attractive beaches in Tenerife with tourists and many locals. An attractively laid out beach with plenty of facilities on the beach itself, parking, shops, bars, cafes and a unique looking restaurant are pretty hard to get out at the end of the day.
El Medano – This 2km long beachfront resort in the south of the island boasts the longest beach on the island surrounded by protected Nature reserve, a golden beach which is not manmade. With great conditions and excellent facilities, El Médano is a favorite location for wind and kite surfers. It is suitable for families for its calm waters.
Playa Del Duque– Once a black sand beach, Playa Del Duque was spruced up in the Nineties when white sand was pumped from the sea bed and placed on top. It is located in Costa Adeje, in the South of Tenerife, another manmade affair which has been developed with panache and imagination. This beach is marketed towards people who enjoy a relaxing, more up market shops and restaurants. Situated just a stone’s throw away from the high-class resort of Bahia del Duque, a visit to this Tenerife beach will leave you feel comfortable and stress free.
Playa Jardin – Playa Jardin is a long black sand beach in the Tenerife resort of Puerto de la Cruz. Awarded a Blue Flag of excellence, Playa Jardin is one of Tenerife’s very best beaches. This garden beach is a play area for visitors and locals as well. The sands of this urban beach are strikingly black, running for about a mile to the edge of the city. It is well-used, a real social area for locals and visitors and has a full range of facilities. The waves here are big and bold, which is great fun for confident young children. Relax on the beach and soak up, not only the sun, but the spectacular view of Mount Teide.
